I've always assumed that the reason for dropping the planned loop was 'just' a question of time and resources.Trevorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12841825195068179068noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7602179322958970783.post-64542797935105668172018-11-09T06:16:11.661-08:002018-11-09T06:16:11.661-08:00The crossing will be between the end of platform 2...The crossing will be between the end of platform 2 and the bracket signal. There is little or no space to get anything past the bracket signal. Howeve...Excellent to see the rodding work complete.
However, upon studying Jo's blog on the extension site, The first photo where he refers to the location of the crossing is correct but the later one is wrong where he states that the crossing will be between Bert and the bracket signal. That would necessitate some very awkward manouvering with a 4 wheel trolley. The caption should have read 'between the bracket signal and the platform', surely.
Regards, Paul.St Blazey 1925https://www.blogger.com/profile/16697444840076235191noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7602179322958970783.post-1841597908238958932018-11-08T09:08:03.693-08:002018-11-08T09:08:03.693-08:00There will be a similar arrangement to the North e...There will be a similar arrangement to the North end with a steel plate over the point rodding and signal wires near the bracket signal. The opposite side (platform 1) will probably be a slot in a concrete base with a plate over the top - this would facilitate installation of additional wires in the future should we ever double track up beyond Childswickham Bridge for a passenger loop!! Will this have any impact on your work in that area ?Dave Scotthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10463220740684887238noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7602179322958970783.post-65003193201838216622018-11-08T03:08:18.318-08:002018-11-08T03:08:18.318-08:00Curly, we missed you last week - hope you had a go...Curly, we missed you last week - hope you had a good time. Have I got this right? I assume that the rodding from the SB pushes towards the thermal compensators (and therefore the rodding on the points side is being pulled).Peter Leehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15020212199830779526noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7602179322958970783.post-19560060583381958312018-11-07T16:01:05.171-08:002018-11-07T16:01:05.171-08:00Likewise!
